Spring Woods miniature pet pigs
About Pet Pigs
Miniature pigs make extraordinary pets. They are social, friendly, and one of the most intelligent animals. They are loyal, affectionate, and docile. They easily harness train for leash walking, and with positive reinforcement can learn an unlimited repertoire of tricks. They are best suited to be an indoor/outdoor pet. They like to be clean, enjoy water and bathing, and are naturally trainable for litter box and house breaking. Pigs produce almost no pet dander and have been a healthier alternative to cats or dogs for those who have allergies. Because they are natural herders, pigs are socially compatible with cats, dogs, and families.
Mini pigs are adorable and comical creatures who make gratifying companions. Small pigs are mild and are loving, and many travel well. Still, pigs require a certain amount of attention, although spoiling a pig is a bad idea. More than anything, they enjoy food, which is necessary for owners to regulate, since piggy will not! Over-feeding a pig can be detrimental. Not only does this compromise their health, but an obese pig can become "fat blind", and a spoiled pig will be bossy. It is the advantage of the pet owner to have proper control over their eating habits, in order to maintain piggy's respect and well being. Over fed pigs will not only be much much larger than is comfortable for you and the pig, but their behavior will be less desirable as well.A pig who is loved, while fed an appropriate diet, makes a highly rewarding pet who will share your mutual adoration.
Although truly wonderful in many ways, pet pigs are not for everyone. If your motivation for having a pet pig is merely novelty, then a mini pig is not for you. For those serious about owning one, please do research! Pigs will remain a healthy, manageable, and smaller size when fed according to a strict and proper feeding regiment. Spring Woods holds a commitment to matching piglets with owners who are willing and able to care appropriately for a pet pig.
